Founded in 1885, Wyker Dampfschiffs-Reederei Föhr-Amrum GmbH (W.D.R.) is a highly successful island supply and public transport company. The company autonomously operates five ferries on the service to the North-Frisian islands of Föhr and Amrum and also links the Halligen of Hooge and Langeneß. In addition, W.D.R. provides public transport on Föhr and Amrum – without public subsidies.
